Our dynamic tariff for solar feed-in
Make the most of your solar energy
Our “Mäi Stroum dynamic solar” feed-in tariff follows wholesale market fluctuations on a 15‑minute basis. This allows you to optimise the return of your photovoltaic system by selling your electricity when market prices are most favourable, while prioritising self-consumption when prices fall.
This offer is designed for users equipped with smart energy management and storage systems.
Benefits and points to keep in mind
Opportunity to increase your earnings by feeding electricity into the grid when prices are high.
Ideal if you can adjust your consumption or make use of a storage system.
To be avoided: feeding in when prices are very low or even negative. During these periods, it’s better to prioritise self-consumption or storage.
How does it work?
The dynamic feed-in tariff changes every 15 minutes, based on prices on the European electricity exchange (EPEX Spot Day-Ahead). Prices are set one day in advance for each quarter-hour period of the following day and reflect the balance between supply and demand.
Key point: Adapt your consumption to take advantage of the most favourable periods and maintain the profitability of your system.

A dynamic feed-in tariff becomes particularly attractive if you can adjust both your electricity consumption and the amount you feed into the grid in line with market fluctuations.
To make the most of it, it’s useful to have programmable technologies and storage solutions, such as:
- a smart home system that automatically manages your energy use based on market prices
- a heat pump or air conditioning system with time scheduling, able to run when electricity is cheapest
- a programmable EV charger, allowing you to charge your vehicle preferably when feeding electricity into the grid is less profitable
- a smart battery, which stores the electricity you generate and feeds any surplus into the grid at the most rewarding times
By combining these solutions, you can optimise your self-consumption, increase your feed-in revenues, and reduce your overall energy costs.
1 The quarter‑hour wholesale Epex prices for the DE-LU zone are published in €/MWh and can be accessed via the link below. For billing purposes, these values expressed in €/MWh are then converted into €/kWh, in accordance with the standard conversion factor of 1 MWh = 1000 kWh.
