With Mäi Stroum smart, you can save up to 75% compared to the Mäi Stroum tariff, without having to deal with the complexity of quarter-hourly price fluctuations on the wholesale electricity market. By choosing Mäi Stroum smart, you benefit from a simple, transparent and predictable tariff.
This tariff can be particularly worthwhile in the following situations:
Charging station: Save money by charging your electric vehicle at home during off-peak hours.
Heat pump: Optimise your electricity consumption for heating by adapting it to the tariff schedule.
Home battery: Take advantage of off-peak hours to store electricity and use it during peak hours.
Central energy management system: Automatically manage your appliances according to the tariff schedule and make the most of the available savings.
With Mäi Stroum smart, you benefit from reduced electricity rates during specific time periods. As peak hours are charged at a higher rate, it pays to schedule your main electricity usage during the most advantageous periods to maximise your savings.
The tariff schedule in detail
In winter (from 1 October to 31 March), you benefit from a reduced rate during off-peak night-time hours, with a 25% discount compared to the standard tariff.
In summer (from 1 April to 30 September), a preferential tariff applies during daytime off-peak hours, from 11 am to 5 pm. During this period, you benefit from a 50% discount compared to the standard tariff and pay only €0.0563/kWh. At weekends, this discount increases to 75%, giving you access to a particularly attractive rate of just €0.0281/kWh.
By contrast, between 5 pm and midnight, during peak hours, electricity is charged at a slightly higher rate, with a 10% surcharge compared to the standard tariff. It is therefore advisable to shift energy-intensive activities outside this time period whenever possible.
At all other times, the standard tariff of €0.1125/kWh applies. This is the same electricity price as our standard Mäi Stroum offer.

Below you will find more information on the different elements of the Mäi Stroum tariff. The tariff is applicable for residential customers in all electricity distribution networks in Luxembourg. All prices on this page are exclusive of VAT (8%).
The above prices don't include the following:

- Monthly base fee for the access to the low-voltage grid
