Your solar installation generates electricity mainly between 7 am and 7 pm. In winter, these hours are shorter, while in summer they are much longer.
To get the most out of it, it’s all about how you manage your consumption and when you feed electricity into the grid:
Feed in when it pays off
When electricity prices are high, it makes sense to feed as much of your solar power as possible into the grid. Try to keep your own consumption low during these periods.
Shift your usage to times with low prices
Make use of times with strong solar production – especially between noon and 2 pm – for energy‑intensive appliances such as your washing machine, dishwasher, tumble dryer, or charging your electric vehicle. At these times, feed‑in prices are often lower, so it’s better to use the electricity yourself.
Gain flexibility with smart solutions
With a battery or smart devices such as a controllable heat pump or EV charger, you gain much more flexibility. This allows you to respond to price changes and use or export your electricity at the most beneficial times.
Good for your wallet – and the environment
The better you align your electricity use and feed‑in with market prices, the more value you can get from your PV system.
At the same time, you’re helping to make better use of renewable energy and playing an active role in the energy transition.
