SUDenergie Trail: An educational journey at the heart of Parc Merveilleux

Learning about energy differently – an educational and inclusive trail

For the past four years, the SUDenergie Trail footbridge has been an integral part of Parc Merveilleux in Bettembourg. This educational trail invites visitors of all ages to discover, in a playful way, the various forms of sustainable energy and the initiatives in place to ensure a secure energy supply for the future.

Children can explore age-appropriate information, while adults may also learn something new.

Measuring 120 metres in length and 2.5 metres in height, the footbridge was built in collaboration with Parc Merveilleux and APEMH, an association that supports people with intellectual disabilities and their families. Special attention was paid to accessibility, particularly for wheelchair users.

In addition to its educational value, the footbridge offers a panoramic view of the enclosures of fallow deer, dingoes and Australian wallabies – an experience not to be missed!

A project that brings people together

The official inauguration took place on 24 September 2021.

“It’s a true bridge between humans and animals. The construction of the acacia wood footbridge was entirely carried out by the technical teams of APEMH and began just before the lockdown in March 2020. A wonderful collaboration!”

Marc Neu - Director of Operations, APEMH

“This project reflects not only our social commitment, but above all our solidarity with those whose lives are disadvantaged by disability.”

Alain Fürpass - Director, SUDenergie
